Welcome to Loch & District Bowling Club
The volunteer run Loch and District Lawn Bowling Club is located at 24 Smith Street, Loch where bowlers of all levels are welcome. A relaxed atmosphere where members and visitors can enjoy a social or competitive game of bowls on our newly laid eight rink synthetic green. Our club is part of the Strzelecki Bowls Region and competes in both Midweek and Weekend Pennant competitions.
We are proud to be part of the Good Sports Program helping to inspire a healthy sporting environment while supporting Vic Health’s This Girl Can program for women. We also support the schools’ juniors bowling competition.
Wednesday night at 5:30pm is our Barefoot Bowls competition (during daylight savings) is always a fun night. Following the game, you can enjoy a complementary sausage sizzle with your teammates. Bowlers of all ages are welcome; you can either enter your own team or join another team that is looking for players.
Occasionally on Friday nights during the warmer months the kitchen is open where you can savor homemade burgers, wraps and other delicious meals while enjoying a drink from the bar. Check our Facebook page or calendar to find out ‘what's on’
At the heart of the club is our volunteers and sponsors, their willingness to help and ongoing support, ensures our club continues to prosper.

OUR NEW VIEWING PLATFORM IS TAKING SHAPE! 🌿
A few progress photos of our new viewing platform at the Bowling Club — it’s coming along beautifully!
Once finished, there’ll be plenty of seating, bar stools and umbrellas for shade, all with a great outlook over the green.
There are still a few finishing touches to come, including mulching the garden areas, but we’re very excited to see this new space taking shape.
A great spot to sit back, relax, catch up and enjoy the bowls. 🥂🌿

In the Spotlight
Lachie and Geoffie are junior members of Loch and District Bowling Club, who have been training hard for the last few months with a junior bowls squad named Phoenix.
Phoenix is a combined group of under 18 bowlers from Strzelecki and Mornington Peninsula regions.
The squad played in their first tournament this week at Deer Park Bowls Club. The Doug Kneebone U18’s Junior Tournament is held each year and brings together the best junior lawn bowlers in Victoria. The competition was a mix of singles, pairs, triples and fours.
Team Phoenix representatives were from the following Bowls Clubs:
Lachie and Geoffie from Loch
Maverick from Koo Wee Rup
Callum from Somerville
Ruby from Churchill
Xavier from Trafalgar.
The Phoenix team competed strongly, playing some terrific bowls shots and showed great sportsmanship. The coaching staff for Phoenix; Tim, Steve and Rick, have done an amazing job helping the kids get to this level. Everyone involved in Phoenix as well as all the parents, are very proud of their progress so far. We all look forward to participating again in the Flapper Shield Tournament in January 2027 to be held at Sebastapol.
If there are any junior bowlers that would like to have fun being involved in the Phoenix squad, please contact Loch Bowling Club or your local bowls club. Uniform, coaching and equipment is all provided.
Burger & Bowls Friday Nights
Our club has a Burger and Bowls night and all are very welcome to come along. Enjoy a great meal and you can even have fun bowling. Barefoot Bowling is held during daylight savings time on Friday nights (check calendar or Facebook page to make sure it is on.)
Note: Burger and Bowls alternates with Finger food Friday nights
